Relay Legs

The Relay has 3 exchange zones. These zones mark the completion of one leg and the beginning of the next leg. In this zone, a chipped wrist band is passed from one runner to the next. These zones are marked on the race map. The legs are approximately 5.5 km, 5.0 km, 5.0 km and 5.6 km. The exchange points are:

#1 exchange: Beach & St Patrick – near water station

#2 exchange: Beach & Cattle Point

#3 exchange: Beach & Cranmore – near water station

NOTE:

Relay runners exchange at Cattle Point #2 going out (through Cattle Point)

Relay runners exchange at Beach and Cranmore coming back from the turnaround not going out.

Each relay exchange point is approximately 2km away which gives participants the ability to run between the zones and watch other exchange points before heading to their own. There is no shuttle to the zones.

Road Closure Info

Roads will be closed for between 30-90 minutes to allow the race to take place. If you live on the race route, please park off the road, or on a side street to facilitate a safe race. If you need to leave your house while the race is in progress please use the utmost caution; police, traffic control personnel and volunteer marshals will direct you across the flow of runners and off the race course as soon as possible. If you live on Beach Drive please proceed South using the side of the road away from the water and leave Beach Drive at the first available opportunity. Please note that Newport Rd and Oak Bay Avenue will only be closed for ~30min then will be completely open. This is the best route for exiting the area.
